Up Selling

1- Flexible aluminum hose that connects the machine to the wall, this is your first add-on I     charge $30 for a 3'-4' segment.  Since you have to take off the flex vent hose anyway it is no additional work for you when you put a new one back in its place.

Reasons to replace the hose are it is worn down, torn or is not all aluminum, the reason it needs to be all aluminum is in case of fire. The fire will travel from the dryer through that aluminum hose to the wall. The aluminum hose will melt and stop the propagation of the fire. The mylar plastic vent hose will continue to burn with flames and is not to fire code. Use this information to convince them that they need to switch to a new all aluminum flex vent hose and you can charge whatever you want you don’t have to charge $30 like me I have seen others charging as much as $60.

2- Gutters-are a great Ad-on. You’re already there, you already have a ladder against the house, and in a  lot of cases already are on the roof for the dryer, why not check out there gutters and clean them for compensation. You can easily turn your hundred dollar job into a $200 job just like that (get a cordless air leaf blower ($150 at Home Depot). A good way to convince everybody is to take videos and pictures of their gutters or anything else you found and can fix on the roof or anywhere else around the house for that matter. You might be handy and have many other home fixing abilities, use them all to up-sell any other services while you are there.

3- Anything- You can up-sell anything.  Here are some ideas.
  • Swap the black rubber hot and cold water hoses on the washing machine for metal ones.
  • Change lightbulbs and Fire Alarm batteries
  • Window Washing
  • Pressure Cleaning
  • Tile and Grout Cleaning

4- A/C Duct Cleaning, although I am not going to cover this today in the dryer vent cleaning course the natural add-on is A/C Duct Cleaning. We do sell an A/C Duct Cleaning course as well.
A/C Duct Cleaning is a great way to make money. I charge $30 per vent , The average house I work on has 12 to 15 vents that’s roughly $360-$450 for two hours of work. On some of the larger houses you can easily make over $1000 for one job. Pleas let us know if you are interested in the A/C Duct cleaning business course to add to your dryer vent cleaning business…Coming soon.
